Grape(s): Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon
Region: Bergerac, Sud-Ouest, France
Vintage: 2016
A real nice, medium bodied red coming out of Bergerac, Bordeaux’s jealous neighbour. Here you can find all the great expressions of Bordeaux’s varietals, but for half the price (thank history and global economics). The nose is intense with notes of oak spice and cassis. The taste is smooth and plays with cherry and cedar. Clos du Moulin is currently in the process of converting to a fully biodynamic vineyard, and the vineyard promotes sustainable farming. When you want bordeaux on a budget, go Bergerac, and go Clos du Moulin.
