Region: Cahors, France
Have people forgotten about Cahors Malbec? We certainly haven’t. Lighter and fruitier than its Argentinian offspring, this Malbec is a reminder of how important terroir is. The grapes are grown on low hills with calcareous soil and go through a short period of maceration, resulting in a glowing light purple colour . Crack this bottle first. Make everyone else ask “Cah-what?” and then watch them get really jealous they didn’t bring the Malbec to your pot luck.
