Host/Server Support

We are looking for someone to host and support our servers and bartenders during our busy weekend nights. The ideal candidate will exude genuine hospitality and be friendly, patient and highly organized. Basic knowledge of wine, cocktails, beer and spirits would be an asset but is not required. A desire to learn the basics would be essential.

Candidate must be at least 18 years of age, be available to work Friday and Saturday nights, and be comfortable working late hours. Other shifts dependent on need. This is a part-time position and may begin with minimal hours ie. one shift a week. Smart Serve certification is required.

Duties include:

• Greeting guests warmly and quickly.
• Organization and understanding of reservations.
• Maintenance of a wait-list.
• Answering the phone and accurately answering questions about wait times, bar location, nearby parking, menu, etc.
• Guiding patrons to their respective tables, and communicate the new party to the server.
• Delivery and brief explanation of menus.
• A basic knowledge of the menu and general operations.
• Aiding and assisting staff members in side duties.
• Must be attentive and be able to multitask.
• Support tasks include the following:
• Clearing empty glassware and dinnerware from the bar and tables
• Washing and replacing water bottles when customers empty them
• Wiping down and flipping tables when empty
• Loading, unloading the glasswasher, and polishing glassware behind the bar 
• Checking washrooms and restocking sanitary products as needed
• Restocking products and refilling ice if needed by the bartenders
• Loading, unloading the dishwasher and assisting kitchen staff with general cleanup
