Tasting Notes: This pale ale from Bellwoods showcases the magic of the foeder- a large oak barrel commonly associated with wine making. These large barrels are often used for aging and maturing many styles of beers, and contribute a lovely flavour profile through use. This particular pale ale was refermented in a foeder, and picks up some of the woodsy oak notes from the large oak barrel. Expect beautiful notes of bright lemon pith, spiced oak, and hints of vanilla, all combined with the barnyard characteristics of brettanomyces.
